"The Penny Cemetery Fund", was created to assist, on a larger scale, the volunteer efforts to restore Evergreen Cemetery, a historic Black cemetery, in Richmond's east end. Although listed on the State & National registers of historic places this privately owned cemetery has been returning to forest, tombstones buried in brush, history lost.

IRS Form 1023, Application for Recognition of Exemption
The Penny Cemetery Fund will not be accepting any financial
contributions until that is received.
Upon approval, all monies received will go to the reclaiming of the
cemetery through a landsaping company with no association to the board and minor expences like web hosting, administration, filing fees and tax preparation.
