The Foundation had a huge volunteer clean-up day on Saturday, November 7th
We met our goal of clearing one parcel back to the graves of Richmond notables Maggie Walker and John Mitchell, Jr. We discovered the grave of A.D. Price, a former slave, who founded a funeral home in historic Jackson Ward.
M.C. Hernandez Landscaping took down trees, brush and cleared the big stuff. Volunteers weed-wacked, raked, clipped and pulled vines. Dozens of tombstones were uncovered.
